ITC Infotech, an IT services company and a fully-owned subsidiary of tobacco-to-hotels conglomerate ITC Group, is rapidly increasing its portfolio of services and solutions for the media and entertainment industry.
The company had revamped its business model last year by creating clusters, surrounding the business verticals, and forayed into newer verticals including new media and entertainment.
The company has introduced ‘ITC Infotech Information Architecture and Design’ service to cater to the needs of the media and entertainment industry. The service will help to accurately describe and catalog vast repositories of digitised unstructured assets, the company said in a statement.
ITC Infotech has also partnered Mobio, a player in Mobile 2.0 application development to launch ‘ITC Infotech Mobile Technology Services.’ The service is focused on empowering customers with Mobile 2.0 technology, and enhance the end user experience through better responsiveness.
Said Sanjiv Puri, managing director, ITC Infotech, “The media and entertainment industry is undergoing a major transformational phase led by the explosive growth of the Internet and the mobile platform. These media conglomerates no longer have a choice but to provide innovative offerings to the discerning consumer. This has propelled new business opportunities for us.”
ITC Infotech uses open source and Microsoft based platforms to develop, test and deploy rich internet media sites. In addition, ITC Infotech provides services to manage the IT Infrastructure needs and back office operations including HR and finance and customer relationship management (CRM).
The company has already deployed its services for one of the fastest growing online retailers of greeting cards and gifts in the UK. It is also working with an independent public charitable trust to digitise and restore over 10,000 hours of rare classical music.
ITC Infotech has also partnered with many customers in the media and entertainment industry, both in the US and in Europe, including a multi-billion dollar media conglomerate with interests in cable and satellite television networks, movie production and distribution.
ITC Infotech employs about 2,300 people, a majority of which are located in its development centres located in Bangalore and Kolkata. Besides, the company has also one near-shore centre in the UK and two in the US.
